Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an in-market Sr. Presales Engineer - Physical Infrastructure to support the growth of rack and cabinet solutions.

You will conduct customer site walks, assess infrastructure needs, and develop technical specifications while providing pricing and identifying cross-competitive opportunities. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of data center white space infrastructure, including racks, containment, single-phase UPS, rack PDUs, and in-rack three-phase UPS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• 8–10 years of directly related work experience preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of power and data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site walks to assess customer infrastructure, white space layouts, rack environments and power needs.
• Develop technical specifications and design rack and cabinet infrastructure solutions.
• Provide pricing, proposals, and solution recommendations for racks, containment, UPS, and PDU opportunities.
• Identify cross-competitive opportunities where customers use alternative rack/cabinet solutions.
• Collaborate with regional sales teams to support account strategy and opportunity development.
• Work with customers, consultants, contractors, distributors, and partners to understand project requirements.
