Job summary

RR Donnelley (RRD) seeks a skilled plate making technician in Greensboro to ensure accurate file preparation for printing. You will review client files, adjust layouts for paper dimensions, and add crop marks and color bars while coordinating with Customer Service and production teams.

Responsibilities include loading client files, generating proofs, performing quality checks, and training new staff. Strong knowledge of Mac/PC design software and color management is essential.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Mac/PC design software and file formats (PDF/TIFF/EPS).
• Experience with imposition software on Mac and Adobe Creative Suite on PC is preferred.
• Advanced color management and ability to handle various digital formats.
• Able to output digital files to multiple devices and learn new graphics software.
• Solid understanding of offset printing and color interactions.
• Mechanical skills for minor repairs on printing prep equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review client files for completeness before plate making.
• Manipulate page layout to fit paper dimensions and add crop marks/color bars.
• Identify missing items and inform Customer Service and production teams.
• Work with customers and production to resolve issues.
• Load client files for output during manufacturing.
• Prepare color proofs for customer review if needed.
• Impose images and operate plate making/bending equipment.
• Perform quality checks on finished plates before release.
• Train and support new and existing team members.
