Job summary

MnDOT in Detroit Lakes, MN seeks a Preliminary Design Supervisor / Engineer Senior to supervise highway construction documentation and provide engineering expertise. Telework up to 2 days weekly with in-office policy alignment.

The role supports district design delivery, ensuring compliance with MnDOT standards, while mentoring staff and coordinating with consultants. Licensure and project-management experience are required for the Senior level.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a professional Engineer with AELSLAGID is required.
• Experience managing transportation projects is required.
• Experience directing work of staff and/or consultants is required.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering supervision for delivery of highway construction plans and documentation.
• Apply engineering principles and practices to ensure MnDOT standards.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of staff and consultants.
