Job summary

PG&E seeks a leading technical expert in predictive grid intelligence, DSSE, and reliability analytics. The role defines the vision, strategy, and technical direction for state-aware grid management, enabling proactive decision-making through ML, AI, physics-based modeling, and digital twins.

The position leads enterprise‑wide predictive intelligence platforms integrating SCADA, AMI, DER, outage, weather, and asset data to forecast grid conditions and risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (as listed).
  • 6 years of job-related experience OR advanced degrees with related experience.
  • Desired: Master’s degree or equivalent with 8 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of DSSE and predictive analytics capabilities for real-time and forecasted grid visibility at distribution circuit level.
  • Develop data and quantitative modeling, new analytic tools and processes for the department.
  • Maintain and update complex models and analytical assumptions.
  • Contribute to industry-wide best practices in digital grid forecasting and modeling.
  • Coach and mentor team members; review third-party work products.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Econometrics or Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, Business or equivalent field
