Suffolk Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead opportunities from RFP through buyout, coordinating with Corporate Leadership, Estimating, and Operations. You will steward proposal development, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain client relationships across the pre-construction phase.
The role emphasizes constructability reviews, scheduling alignment, and risk assessment to support successful project pursuits and seamless handover to Operations.

The primary responsibility of the Preconstruction Manager is to intake and steer construction opportunities through the RFP stage of estimating and preconstruction, all the way through a successful buyout and purchasing phase, before turning the project over to Operations. The Preconstruction Manager will coordinate heavily with Corporate Operational leadership and resources, as well as the Estimating team for the purpose of submitting comprehensive proposals during the project pursuit and pre‑construction phases. The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and communicate proposal development between all internal and external stakeholders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine‑motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking is required.
