Job summary

Lemoine Company in Lafayette, LA seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating across conceptual, negotiated, and competitive bids. You will interface with Project Managers and clients to deliver precise estimates while minimizing risk and supporting successful project execution.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing scopes and bids, coordinating RFIs and addenda, and mentoring the preconstruction team to ensure accurate, thorough proposals and smooth turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of estimating/preconstruction experience in commercial GC or subcontractor.
• Strong math, budgeting, financial analysis, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, and owner requirements; support risk evaluation and contingencies.
• Prepare project estimates incl. scopes, takeoffs, subcontractor bids, and proposals.
• Coordinate RFIs, clarifications, addenda, and bid day activities.
• Support budgeting, value analysis, buyouts, and proposal development.
• Manage subcontractor relationships including prequalification and bid coordination.
• Lead estimate efforts: develop bid lists, finalize budgets, attend pre-bid meetings.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and training while promoting clear communication.
