Job summary

You will lead budgets, interpret documents, drive bid processes, and develop team capability, with a path toward broader leadership within MBG.

Collaborate with the Director of Preconstruction; mentor team members; ensure clear scope, exclusions, and buyout strategy for successful project launches.

Qualifications

• Experience leading preconstruction on complex commercial projects with emphasis on multifamily, hospitality and senior living.
• Ability to author and defend budgets through multiple design phases and lead bid processes.
• Direct interfacing with owners and designers to identify risks and define scope.

Responsibilities

• Budget development, cost strategy, and escalation considerations.
• Thorough understanding of drawings, specs, and project intent; issue clarifications.
• Lead design-phase cost conversations with architects and ownership; provide constructability input.
• Develop bid strategies by trade; issue scopes of work; manage subcontractor outreach and evaluations.
• Identify financial, scope, and execution risks; recommend mitigations and contingency plans.
• Ensure clean handoff to operations with aligned scope, assumptions, and buyout strategy.
