Job summary

LEMOINE is seeking an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager for commercial building projects in Birmingham, Alabama. This role focuses on conceptual, negotiated, and competitive bid estimates, coordinating across project teams to deliver accurate budgets and best-value solutions.

You will lead a preconstruction team, oversee estimators and project engineers, and mentor staff while partnering with owners, architects, and subcontractors to balance design goals with cost constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in project management, estimating, or pre-construction for commercial GC or subcontractor.
• Strong math, budgeting, financial analysis, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Entrepreneurial, creative leadership and a solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, and design docs to identify constructability issues, costs, risks, and opportunities for value analysis.
• Support senior estimators in estimating, budgeting, scheduling, bidding, and planning across multiple project types.
• Prepare and lead detailed estimates, conceptual budgets, and bids in accordance with procedures.
• Coordinate RFIs, bid lists, subcontractor outreach, and post-bid buyouts for complete scope coverage.
• Collaborate with PMs, owners, architects, and engineers to manage budgets and support design decisions.
