Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of pre-construction/estimating experience in a commercial general contractor.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience with preconstruction software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects and engineers to secure procurement and execution.
• Maintain regular client contact to ensure satisfaction with progress and results.
• Cultivate new and existing client relationships to develop business.
• Assist in preparing presentations to secure new work.
• Support executive team in recruiting talent to grow the company.
• Adhere to and improve Preconstruction Best Practices.
• Assemble estimates, including general and special conditions, insurance and bonds.
• Review drawings and specs for completeness before pricing.
• Analyze cost models during design development and bidding.
• Prepare subcontractor/material bid lists and invitations to bid.
• Lead in adopting new processes and tools for preconstruction.
• Provide unit pricing for labor, materials and self-perform items.
• Identify labor burden, builder’s risk, and tax rates.
