Job summary

New York Green Roofs LLC seeks a Senior Construction Estimator in Preconstruction to lead estimates for green roof and landscape projects in NYC. The role focuses on bid-build landscape construction, with responsibility for taking off quantities, evaluating subcontractor pricing, and preparing compelling proposals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience in landscape construction, civil/sitework, roofing, waterproofing, building envelope, concrete, or another specialty construction discipline.
• Strong plan-reading and quantity takeoff skills.
• Commercial judgment and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with LMN is helpful but not required.
• If you're an exceptional estimator from another construction specialty, we'll teach you green roofs.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete project estimates in LMN.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope gaps and prepare RFIs.
• Evaluate project risks, opportunities, and value engineering.
• Prepare professional proposals.
• Support project handoff to operations.
• Help improve estimating processes, historical cost data, and pricing consistency.
