Job summary

New York Green Roofs LLC seeks a Senior Construction Estimator in Preconstruction to lead estimates for green roof and landscape projects in NYC. The role focuses on bid-build landscape construction, with responsibility for taking off quantities, evaluating subcontractor pricing, and preparing compelling proposals.

We value experience in related disciplines, attention to detail, and strong communication. Hybrid work options are available, with career growth in a growing specialty contractor

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience in landscape construction, civil/sitework, roofing, waterproofing, building envelope, concrete, or another specialty construction discipline.
• Strong plan-reading and quantity takeoff skills.
• Commercial judgment and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with LMN is helpful but not required.
• If you're an exceptional estimator from another construction specialty, we'll teach you green roofs.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete project estimates in LMN.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope gaps and prepare RFIs.
• Evaluate project risks, opportunities, and value engineering.

• Support project handoff to operations.
• Help improve estimating processes, historical cost data, and pricing consistency.

Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) | Full-Time | $100,000 - $125,000/year

At New York Green Roofs, we believe cities are better when rooftops become living landscapes. Our mission is simple: More Plants on More Roofs. For nearly two decades, we've designed, built, and maintained some of NYC's most innovative green roofs and rooftop gardens. As a WBE-certified firm, we're entering an exciting new chapter, planning to double in size over the next several years.

We're investing in our preconstruction team and looking for an experienced estimator who wants to help shape it. This isn't just another estimating position. It's an opportunity to become the estimating leader at a growing specialty contractor with ambitious goals, unique projects, and a culture that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Own

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents


• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete project estimates in LMN

• This role is focused on commercial Bid-Build landscape construction estimating not project management or sales.

What You Bring
