Job summary

CBI Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to help establish budgets, estimate assemblies, and manage the preconstruction and buyout process. You will work with the Director of Preconstruction and Procurement to ensure accurate estimates and timely buyouts for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years of professional construction management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings for detailed takeoffs.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with construction software tools (BlueBeam, OnScreen TakeOff, ProCore).

Responsibilities

• Develop project conceptual budgets with site data and market trends.
• Collaborate with management and design teams on product design and value engineering.
• Create and maintain Preconstruction Schedules for early-stage projects.
• Source trade partners and maintain trade partner database.
• Review plans and specifications to determine project requirements and provide takeoffs.
• Coordinate with Civil Engineer and Architect of Record for proper vetting of drawings.
• Lead preconstruction RFI process as primary administrator.
• Direct scope and pricing strategy for proposed work and ensure proposal completeness.
• Ensure alignment of original estimate with buyout process and negotiate terms with trade partners.
• Analyze budget variances and improve estimating, budgeting, and cost tracking processes.
