Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Engineer for its Preconstruction team in our Dallas, TX regional office. This is a full-time, in-person position.

You will read design documents, perform cost estimates, manage cost and design issues, coordinate trades with BIM exposure, and oversee purchasing to support projects. Relocation is encouraged for the right candidate and strong collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related construction/engineering field.
• 4-6 years of experience in construction management, preconstruction, or estimating.
• Outstanding communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and scheduling software.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand construction design documents and specifications.
• Perform construction cost estimates and quantity surveys for various scopes of work.
• Manage cost and design issues throughout project phases.
• Coordinate and manage trades, with exposure to BIM processes.
• Oversee all purchasing required to support projects, including scope coordination, proposal evaluation, trade negotiations, and contracting.
