Job summary

Tiello is seeking a Director of Preconstruction (Underground Wet Utilities) in Phoenix, AZ, with compensation ranging from $175,000 to $215,000. The role requires a track record of estimating for underground/wet utilities and leading a preconstruction team within a civil or heavy civil context.

The successful candidate will oversee budgets, pricing, and procurement, while growing relationships with municipalities and clients, and delivering value-engineered solutions for complex projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating projects in Underground Utilities, Wet Utilities, Earthworks or Heavy Civil sectors.
• Experience estimating public projects focused on underground utilities and heavy civil infrastructure.
• Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Preconstruction Team and oversee senior estimators and take-off technicians.
• Develop budgets, contract prices, and material/labor estimates.
• Negotiate cost-effective contracts and material purchases.
• Foster relationships with municipalities and clients; manage the preconstruction pipeline.
• Provide value-engineered solutions and maintain client and contractor relations.
