Job summary

Tiello LLC partners with a well-established commercial masonry contractor in the Southeast. The Director of Preconstruction will lead estimating and preconstruction, shaping bid strategy, cost development, and team performance to position the company for growth.

The role requires extensive masonry estimating experience, strong leadership, and the ability to implement processes that improve profitability and efficiency, while collaborating with clients, general contractors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience leading an estimating team and preconstruction operations.
• Knowledge of commercial masonry construction methods and costs.
• Ability to develop bid strategies and identify profitability opportunities.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction and estimating for commercial masonry projects from bid to submission.
• Mentor estimating team and establish standards.
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope to determine costs and labor.
• Prepare detailed masonry estimates including takeoffs and pricing.
• Develop bid strategies and manage bid calendars.
• Build relationships with general contractors, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth transition to execution.
• Review historical costs and improve forecasting.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Support growth by evaluating market opportunities and client relations.
