Job summary

MANTECH in Livermore, CA is seeking a Senior Precision Machinist to support DOE programs with centimeter-scale components and sub-micron precision. This onsite role requires meticulous execution and strict data recording.

You will operate diamond turning CNC lathes and mills, read engineering drawings, and collaborate with target fabrication engineers to ensure tolerances and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication procedures.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM applications and microscope-based metrology.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform precision machining of target components with in-process metrology.
• Set up, program, and operate diamond turning CNC lathes and mills.
• Perform in-process checks and calculations using microscopy and interferometry.
• Interpret drawings and draft fixtures for part manufacture.
• Maintain safe data recording and SOPs; train peers.
