Job summary

Rocketdyne in Redmond, WA is seeking a precision Machinist for a 2nd shift. The role involves reading GD&T and drawings, setting up and operating NC and conventional machine tools, and maintaining extremely tight tolerances.

You will use precision measuring instruments and follow production planning to meet delivery schedules. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in close-tolerance machining, knowledge of multiple machining materials, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of close tolerance machining experience.
• Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred.
• Must understand and be able to use trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand GD&T, engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and tolerancing.
• Follow production planning and procedures.
• Maintain tolerances to +/- .0001"
• Maintain a rejection rate below 2%.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check work.
• Set up and run NC and conventional machine tools; some programming included.
