Job summary

Innova Solutions is hiring an Engineering Technician in Wilmington, MA, on a full-time contract basis. The role requires extensive hands-on precision assembly experience, including optical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components, within a clean room environment.

The candidate should be self-driven, capable of operating with minimal supervision, and able to interpret CAD models and drawings. The position is open to applicants on a W-2 basis, with pay ranges of $70–$75 per hour and a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 20+ years of precision assembly experience.
• Experience in a development environment strongly preferred.
• Experience assembling space hardware strongly preferred.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and information-gathering skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of optical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components.
• Work in Class 100 (ISO 5) clean room and laboratory environments.
• Assemble, bond, and handle delicate, miniature components to extremely tight tolerances.
• Perform lapping to achieve demanding flatness, parallelism, and angular requirements.
• Safely handle sensitive optical hardware such as lenses and mirrors.
• Read and interpret manufacturing instructions, drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
• Maintain strict component traceability.
• Troubleshoot complex assembly issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to improve methods and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce errors, defects, scrap, and rework.
• Take initiative during downtime and keep valuable work moving.
