Job summary

Eye Center of Northern Colorado, a Panorama Eyecare company, is seeking a Senior Pre-Surgical Technician to join our Fort Collins clinic. You will test ophthalmic parameters, interpret diagnostic data, and support the provider in refractive surgery decisions to ensure a streamlined patient experience.

Responsibilities include performing biometry, keratometry, topography, calculating IOL selections, and training new team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to get BLS certified within 3 months of employment.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.
• This role would be great for CNA, MA, etc. (Preferred, but Not Required)
• Demonstrated proficiency of ophthalmic testing required (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography). Successful completion of competency assessment is mandatory.
• Proficiency in basic clinical math, with the ability to accurately analyze numerical data and apply it to clinical workflows, such as cataract lens calculations.
• COA preferred.

• Answer patient questions regarding intraocular lens implants, surgical procedures, and post-operative medications.
• Use diagnostic testing results to guide patient-centered IOL discussions that support understanding and surgical decision-making.
• Complete surgical charts and perform all necessary calculations for final lens selection by the provider.
• Partner with leadership and peers to deliver training to new team members.

The Role

Senior Pre-Surgical Technicians are expected to demonstrate full proficiency in all Core Pre-Surgical Technician responsibilities. In addition to these foundational duties, this position requires the ability to interpret and apply diagnostic data to support the provider in making informed Refractive Surgery decisions. The goal is to ensure that the ophthalmic patient, provider, and surgical team experience a streamlined, accurate, and positive encounter that aligns with the mission and standards of care at Panorama Eyecare.

Requirements

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to get BLS (Basic Life Support) certified within 3 months of employment.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.
• This role would be great for CNA, MA, etc. (Preferred, but Not Required)
• Demonstrated proficiency of ophthalmic testing required (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography). Successful completion of competency assessment is mandatory.
• Proficiency in basic clinical math, with the ability to accurately analyze numerical data and apply it to clinical workflows, such as cataract lens calculations.

Physical Demands

• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
• Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort.

Additional Job Details

• Works at our clinic location, Eye Center of Northern Colorado - Precision (3151 Precision Dr, Fort Collins, CO).
• This is a Full-Time Position.
• Compensation for this role will be $26.25-$33.00 an hour based on experience/certification.
