Job summary

Skill is seeking a senior PR leader to guide the company’s external communications and public narrative from New York. You will shape strategy, oversee a small team, and ensure cohesive messaging across earned media, product launches, and executive interviews.

You will build relationships with journalists and influencers, draft high-impact materials, and manage agency partners to maintain a strong, consistent brand voice across all channels.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to secure tier-one media coverage through proactive pitching.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a diverse published portfolio.
• Strong project management and operational discipline with timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor at least one direct report and prioritize development.
• Own end-to-end PR strategy, including share of voice and earned media impressions.
• Build a rolling 90-day PR calendar aligned with launches and trends.
• Define quarterly themes to establish brand ownership in Tier-1 media.
• Write and edit press materials with minimal need for editing.
• Pitch journalists and influencers and grow a cross-beat network.
• Respond quickly to inbound media requests with cross-functional info.
• Insert the brand into the news cycle by spotting trends and pitching timely stories.
• Develop a podcast, interview, and speaking pipeline for executives.
• Identify industry awards and submit company and executives.
