Job summary

The Davis Companies Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and release mechanical powertrain systems for electric and conventional vehicles.

You will work on architecture, component design, testing, supplier collaboration, and product development within a cross-functional team. Responsibilities include leading powertrain subsystems, establishing specifications, and guiding DFMEA/DVP&R activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis.
• Powertrain experience is highly preferred (electric motors, ICE, CVTs, transaxles).
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change processes.
• Strong understanding of product development, testing, validation, and qualification.
• Strong project management and risk management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for mechanical vehicle subsystems including motors, engines, CVTs, and transaxles.
• Develop and maintain vehicle and component mechanical specifications and qualification plans.
• Support design and release of mechanical powertrain systems and components.
• Develop and manage engineering requirements, specifications, and testing criteria.
• Perform DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering change processes and mitigation of risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams throughout development.
• Mentor teammates and ensure compliance with standards.
