Job summary

Hired is seeking a Senior Electrical Powertrain Software Engineer to lead electronics development for powertrain control systems and related electrical architecture. You will translate concepts into specifications, guide technical delivery, and verify performance in vehicles.

Responsibilities include designing hardware/software specs, leading design reviews, troubleshooting prototypes and production vehicles, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards and cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/mechatronics or related STEM field.
Three or more years of automotive ECU development experience.
Knowledge of automotive ECU hardware and electronic circuits.
Experience with industry-standard engineering and control-unit data-monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

Break project concepts into development activities and negotiate schedules with stakeholders.
Design electrical hardware and software specifications and lead technical design reviews.
Lead complex project implementations and share effective practices with other engineers.
Troubleshoot functional issues in prototype and production vehicles; perform root-cause analysis and define solutions.
Test and verify hardware and software specifications, including EMC and technical changes.
Produce test reports and lead verification reviews.
Lead investigations into processes or technologies that improve system performance, capability, or efficiency; report progress, budget, and schedule.
Ensure assigned systems conform to regulations, ISO standards, cybersecurity, and required certifications.
