Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Leader to head the Gasoline Air, Torque, Starting, and Accessories Software Controls team within the Propulsion Software and Diagnostics Department. You will own and communicate status in reviews and escalation meetings, driving accountability for embedded controls developed by the team.

You will drive delivery across regulatory reviews (AECD, EU7/FMVSS), engine start/stop and power management features, and collaborate with global calibration teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field of study.
• 5 years of software development experience, powertrain software preferred
• 2 years of experience supporting critical applications in an 'always on' environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for Gasoline, Air, Torque, Starting, and Accessories Software Controls.
• Own and communicate the status of all team work products in design reviews and management escalation meetings.
• Drive delivery across AECD regulatory reviews, EU7/FMVSS compliance deliverables, and engine start/stop and power management features.
• Collaborate with global gas and diesel software development and calibration teams to ensure timely, high-quality software.
• Foster ownership, urgency, and proactive risk mitigation within the team to protect program milestones.
• Plan controls and monitors for gasoline and diesel engines and support new hardware technologies across platforms.
