Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist to lead on-site transformer projects across North America. You’ll oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance at client sites, working with EPC teams to ensure grid reliability and project success.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience with power transformers, strong leadership, and the ability to travel up to 80%. Based in Humble/Houston area with long on-site/rotational schedules and per-diem support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical field with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of field experience with power transformers or related Electrical Balance of Plant equipment.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site transformer services including installation, corrective maintenance and upgrades.
• Assist with on-site resources and subcontracted services.
• Attend daily tailboards with crew or customer resources to plan activities.
• Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns with the job scope.
• Assist with operation of vacuum processing rigs and related equipment.
• Oversee field test or commissioning of related units.
• Develop and improve standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance.
• Prepare submission of technical documents and participate in inspections with customers.
