Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA is hiring a power transformer design engineer to develop and engineer transformers in line with customer specifications and industry standards. You will perform detailed electrical analyses, coordinate with manufacturing, testing and quality teams, and support tendering with technical input and feasibility assessments.

The role requires collaboration with global engineering groups and proactive problem solving to improve electrical design quality and reliability in a fast paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (master's preferred).
• 3+ years of power transformer design or high voltage equipment engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of power transformer theory and electrical design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer power transformers per customer specs, IEEE/ANSI and internal guidelines.
• Perform electrical calculations: losses, impedance, short-circuit, thermal, insulation coordination.
• Support tendering and order execution with technical input and feasibility assessments.
• Interface with manufacturing, testing, quality and supply chain during project execution.
• Provide technical support during factory testing and customer inspections.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to align on standards and best practices.
• Assist root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical design issues.
