Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA, a division of SGB‑SMIT Group, designs and manufactures power transformers and related equipment for data centers, renewable energy and industrial applications. The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, 3+ years HV transformer design experience, and familiarity with IEEE, ANSI and IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required; master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in power transformer design or high‑voltage equipment engineering.
• Strong knowledge of transformer theory and electrical design principles.
• Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, and IEC standards.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate globally.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT drug screen and physical.
• Complete a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer power transformers per specifications and standards.
• Perform electrical calculations including losses, impedance, short‑circuit forces, thermal performance and insulation coordination.
• Support tendering and order execution with technical input and feasibility assessments.
• Interface with manufacturing, testing, quality, and supply chain teams during project execution.
• Provide technical support during factory testing, customer inspections, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with global BU PT engineering teams to align on standards and best practices.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical design‑related issues.
