Job summary

POWERX is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for part-time, project-based work in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on high-level electrical engineering tasks, power system analyses, and detailed drawings for substations and MV systems. You will develop equipment specs, ensure safety and quality, and support project teams across phases.

The position emphasizes flexibility, independent work, and adherence to company standards while enabling engagement with diverse utilities and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with power systems background.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of power systems studies and protective device settings.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical drawings for substations and MV systems.
• Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, arc flash).
• Develop equipment specifications and protective device settings.
• Review shop drawings and assist project engineers and technicians.
• Seal drawings and reports as needed and participate in testing activities.
