Job summary

Powertech USA, a Boston-based subsidiary of Powertech Labs Inc., seeks a Senior Power System Modelling Engineer to validate models and tune controls for generation plants including wind, solar, and storage.

Responsibilities include conducting system studies to meet NERC standards, preparing test plans, engineering reports, and traveling to sites internationally to perform validation testing. You will work with DSATools and other PSCAD tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems focus (preferred).
• 5+ years in power system transient stability, protection and control.
• Experience with generator and renewable modelling and protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Validate plant models and tune controls for generation assets (wind, solar, storage).
• Run power system studies to meet reliability standards (NERC).
• Prepare test plans, engineering reports and methodology documentation.
• Perform peer reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Travel to sites worldwide for onsite validation testing.
• Develop technical proposals with scope, cost estimates and schedules.
