Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is seeking an experienced technician to support Field Services in testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across generation, renewable energy, industrial, and commercial installations.

The role ensures the integrity and reliability of high- and low-voltage systems, impacting safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. Travel to customer sites and hands-on commissioning are core aspects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical testing and troubleshooting experience.
• NETA or NICET certification preferred.
• Familiar with power distribution, AC/DC voltage, and circuit theory.
• Able to read schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawings.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and diagnostic software.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 30, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites for inspection, testing, and start-up.
• Test power transformers and collect oil samples.
• Test and troubleshoot relays, cables, switchgear, and breakers.
• Test instrument transformers and control circuits.
• Read and interpret schematics and electrical drawings.
• Follow NETA ATS/MTS specs and guidelines.
• Manage project files, drawings, and docs.
• Provide excellent customer communication.
• Train apprentices and team members.
• Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies.
• Conduct hands-on start-up, commissioning, and repairs.
• Handle power delivery systems components.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation.
