Job summary

The Kinsley Group seeks a Senior Technical Support Specialist to serve as an advanced technical resource for power generation equipment, providing training, field support, troubleshooting, and commissioning assistance for Rehlko KO-Series and Big-Iron generators.

You will collaborate with Service Operations, Technical Training, Branch Management, and factory personnel to resolve complex issues, mentor technicians, and lead start-up activities across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience servicing generators 500 kW to 2,000 kW, including paralleling switchgear and DPS systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required Rehlko certifications and train-the-trainer credentials.
• Willingness to engage in international travel and meet security clearance requirements.
• Possession of OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain one.
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license and DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting for complex equipment, controls, switchgear, and commissioning issues with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and deliver industrial training classes through the Kinsley Training Center in Syracuse; include classroom and hands-on training.
• Collaborate with Technical Support Coordinator/Trainer and Branch Manager to optimize technician productivity and problem-solve scheduling issues.
• Work with Operations management on technician mentorship and expanding the technician base.
• Provide updates and status reports on scheduled jobs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel to customer sites and emergency events to provide advanced technical support and training (up to two weeks per trip).
• Maintain records of technical issues, actions, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety compliance per NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and proper PPE usage.
