RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer II, Electrical BOP to support renewable assets with a focus on balance‑of‑plant equipment, transformers, switchgear, and plant controllers.

The role requires deep expertise in short circuit analysis and arc flash studies, and a PE license. Expect collaboration with Operations, Asset Management, and Development/Construction, plus 20-25% travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 7 years in power systems engineering with focus on short circuit and arc flash studies.
• Extensive experience with high‑voltage power systems equipment and protection settings.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analyses for electrical systems.
• Approve study reports and recommend mitigation to reduce incident energy.
• Prepare technical documentation including one-line diagrams and relay settings.
• Develop and maintain electrical system models using ETAP and other tools.
• Collaborate with project teams, gather data, and validate inputs.
• Provide training on electrical safety and power system analysis.
• Support NERC standards compliance and related studies.
