Blue Water Autonomy is seeking a Senior Power Systems Mechanical Engineer to advance next-generation naval power plants for autonomous ships. You will design and test mechanical, fluid, and electrical systems, aiming for modular power generation from 1–50MW, and work closely with ship design and power electronics teams.

You will own design robustness through FMECA/FMEA, develop test plans, and contribute to producibility with BOM reviews and supplier engagement in a harsh maritime environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience delivering hardware for complex integrated systems.
• Cradle-to-grave product development mindset.
• Ability to reason about vehicle-level impacts of engineering decisions.

Aufgaben

• Support architecture and detailed design of fluid, mechanical and electrical systems (schematics, components, routing, mounting).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software teams on sensors, controls, and fault detection for subsystems.
• Apply FMECA/FMEA to ensure robustness and graceful degradation.
• Develop and execute development, acceptance and qualification test plans.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models of mechanical assemblies.
• Manage feedback loops with issue capture, design changes, and re-testing.
• Support producibility: BOM rationalization, supplier engagement, and assembly verification.
