Astro Mechanica seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on power systems development to advance our ground power product. You will set architecture, run studies, specify equipment, lead validation, and own electrical safety and certification across MV systems.

Collaborating with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams, you will interface with customers, utilities, and certification bodies to deliver a robust, scalable power platform for aircraft ground power applications.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MS/PhD with focus on power electronics
• 5+ years designing, building, testing, shipping electrical power systems
• Deep experience with medium‑voltage systems (1–38 kV) including generators, transformers, switchgear
• Strong power system analysis skills and familiarity with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, UL, NFPA 70E and product certification
• Hands‑on field experience commissioning MV equipment and generator control systems
• Track record owning a complex electrical product from concept through production with cross‑functional teams
• Familiarity with power electronics and controls integration (SCADA/PLC) a plus

Aufgaben

• Translate product requirements into electrical specifications, diagrams, and BOMs
• Own the electrical architecture and design of the plant including transformers, switchgear, cabling, protection, and grounding
• Perform and review power system studies: load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, grounding, harmonics
• Ensure NEC/IEEE/IEC/UL/NFPA 70E compliance and own electrical safety and certification
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and serve as technical interface to customers, utilities, and suppliers
