Job summary

Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead power systems and substation projects across utility, industrial, and large commercial sectors. You will mentor junior engineers, interface with clients, and drive projects from concept through design, construction, and commissioning.

A BS in Electrical Engineering and 10–15 years of experience are required; a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10–15 years of relevant power systems engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with utility, industrial, or large commercial power systems.
• Experience performing field investigations, condition assessments, and commissioning support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior engineer and project manager on power system and substation engineering projects.
• Conduct site inspections and field investigations to verify existing physical, electrical, and wiring conditions.
• Interface directly with clients to understand requirements, develop solutions, maintain strong relationships, and lead project execution, schedule management, and budget performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, design criteria, and procurement packages.
• Support equipment specification, material procurement, vendor coordination, and construction/commissioning activities.
