Job summary

Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a Substation Physical Design Engineer to shape the future of power infrastructure. Join our nationwide team delivering safe, reliable substation design solutions with a remote-friendly schedule.

The role supports a fast-paced, collaborative environment across the full project lifecycle—from concept through commissioning and asset maintenance. B.S. in EE or EET and EIT/PE are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in high and medium voltage design engineering.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and IEEE/ANSI standards.
• MV/LV switchgear, pad mount transformers, Station Class Transformers, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter and battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of MV and HV systems.
• Specification and purchase of equipment.
• Design and construction estimates.
• Work with project teams to achieve quality and schedule goals.
• Interface with customers to meet standards and delivery dates.
• Maintain and update engineering standards.
• Assist with project management to meet budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants.
