Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Georgia to lead power systems, protection & control, and substation projects across the region. You’ll shape grid reliability, mentor teams, and collaborate with utility clients on high-impact engagements.

The role requires 8–12+ years in power systems, a related engineering degree, and experience with relay configurations, SCADA, and networked substation architectures.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in power systems or substation engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Strong knowledge of protection principles and substation design.
• Experience with relay programming and configuration (SEL, GE, Beckwith).
• Experience with networked substation architectures and managed switches.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineering design and analysis for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Perform power system studies including short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow analyses.
• Develop and review Protection & Control designs, relay logic, trip schemes, and relay settings.
• Prepare substation engineering deliverables: equipment specs, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding design.
• Configure and integrate substation networking systems (managed switches, LAN).
• Conduct event, relay, and disturbance analysis to support troubleshooting.
• Develop and review SCADA configurations, RTU logic, HMI screens, and interfaces.
• Interpret utility standards and cybersecurity requirements for projects.
• Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Interface with utility clients to present solutions and resolve issues.
• Support field activities such as commissioning and relay testing.
• Serve as Owner’s Engineer to review designs and guide execution.
