Shield AI is seeking a senior power systems engineer to define and execute the power architecture for our launch and recovery vehicle platforms. You will lead design, verification, and integration of high‑power systems, ensuring reliability in harsh environments and guiding a team of engineers through complex challenges.

The role requires 10+ years of power systems experience, delivering products to market, and strong proficiency with EE tools and simulations.

Qualifications

• Power system design experience on a large vehicle or aircraft.
• 10+ years relevant experience in power systems engineering.
• Delivered power systems/products to market and used EE tools for development.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the vision of the power system from concept to production.
• Design, develop, and integrate high power systems for harsh environments.
• Guide teams toward custom power electronic designs and enable UPS capability.
• Perform make vs. buy studies and select modules for aircraft use.
• Verify system performance and reliability through rigorous tests.
• Debug complex electrical, environmental, and manufacturing issues.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional architecture initiatives.
• Drive top-level architecture with program leadership in a fast-paced setting.
