Job summary

Fluence is seeking a Senior Power Systems and Grid Modelling Engineer in Arlington, VA. You will model Battery Energy Storage Systems, perform steady state, dynamic, and transient simulations, and validate control designs for large load applications.

Responsibilities include coordinating with product teams, ensuring grid interconnect compliance, and delivering engineering deliverables. The role requires a Master’s in EE with power systems focus or 3–5 years of experience, proficiency in industry

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on power systems or renewable energy systems.
• 3-5 years of work experience in power systems or related field.
• Experience with grid interconnection and utility standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model Battery Energy Storage Systems for steady state, dynamic, transient and frequency domain simulations.
• Perform Steady State simulations to evaluate grid constraints and equipment limits.
• Conduct Dynamic (RMS) simulations for stability analyses.
• Perform Transient (EMT) simulations for fast transients and control evaluation.
• Support product team in validation of control design concepts.
• Stay up-to-date with latest requirements and technology for large load applications.
• Simulate grid behavior of connected BESS with emphasis on integration and validation.
• Prepare and review engineering reports and deliverables.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end grid connections.
