Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a senior Power Systems Engineer to lead dynamic studies and IBR modeling in a fast-evolving grid environment. The role emphasizes compliance with ERCOT MOD-026-2 and NERC standards, with opportunities to apply AI-enabled automation to improve project quality and efficiency.

You will work on steady-state, short-circuit, and dynamic analyses using PSCAD and PSSE, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust grid modeling solutions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems.
  • 5+ years of experience as a power systems engineer.
  • Experience with ERCOT Model Quality Test or equivalent, IEEE-2800, and NERC MOD-026-2.
  • Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD and PSSE.
  • Experience with automating / programming in Python.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation.

Conduct IFC and as-built IBR dynamic modeling studies in accordance with existing and future ISO-specific requirements and NERC reliability standards, such as PJM's EMT Model Development Guideline for Inverter-Based Resources and NERC MOD-026-2.

Responsibilities
