Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a senior power systems engineer to lead modeling and NERC-related studies. You will manage client accounts, support business development, and guide the growth of engineers on the team.

The role requires proficiency with PSSE/PSCAD/TSAT/PSLF, a power systems degree, and ERCOT experience, along with strong communication and leadership skills. This position is remote in the US with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis.
• Proficient with PSSE/PSCAD/TSAT/PSLF.
• Experience with ERCOT modeling requirements.
• Minimum 3 years in power systems modeling.
• Knowledge of power system and IBR modeling.

• Ability to explain technical matters clearly.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of power system engineers performing modeling and NERC technical studies for clients. Responsibilities include client account management, supporting business development, project management, and development of direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
• Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the project(s) study scope of work.
• Develop and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization.
• Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry standard analysis platforms such as PSS/e, PLSF, TSAT and PSCAD.
• Lead process improvement efforts identifying opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies focused on maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
• Support business development activities including development of RFP responses & scope of work statements for clients, outlining EPE deliverables and projected completion dates.

Qualifications

• Proficient with all least one of the power system analysis software: PSSE, PSCAD, TSAT and PSLF
• Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis.
• Wide range of experience with ERCOT modeling requirements and procedures.
• Minimum 3 years (in excess of degree requirements)
• Proven knowledge of power system and IBR modeling
• Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
• Have high standards on producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
