Job summary
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division seeks a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer to lead design, programming, installation, startup, and optimization of automated control and power management systems for critical infrastructure. This hybrid role involves approximately 50% travel across the Southeast region.
The role focuses on PLCs, HMIs, protection relays, and generator controllers, with responsibilities spanning from software development to field support and BOM
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with PLC programming and power distribution experience.
- Ability to travel ~50% within the Southeast US region is required.
- Regulatory compliance and safety knowledge relevant to power systems and controls.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC, data concentrator, protection relay, and HMI software for automatic power transfer applications.
- Quote turnkey control schemes, analyze specifications, and prepare scopes of work.
- Assist with factory testing and field start-ups; troubleshoot onsite and remotely.
- Select components and prepare BOMs; provide sketches to Electrical Designers for drawings.
