Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Power Systems Analyst to join its fully remote team, supporting operations across regions. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the power grid through advanced modeling and simulation.

You will forecast energy demand, analyze grid performance, and develop strategies to integrate renewables and storage. Collaborating with planning engineers and project teams, you will prepare reports and communicate findings

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in power system analysis and planning.
• Expertise in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, EMTP).
• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Experience with grid integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, suitable for a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed power system studies, including load flow, stability, short-circuit, and contingency analysis.
• Develop and maintain power system models using industry-standard software for planning and operational studies.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify potential issues, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and recommend strategies for grid expansion, upgrades, and integration of new technologies, including renewables and storage.
• Collaborate with planning engineers, system operators, and project teams to provide technical expertise.
