Job summary
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to join our Energy Networks team, based from Epsom, Leeds, Birmingham, or Glasgow, or working remotely as part of our flexible policy. You will conduct simulations and analytical studies for Offshore Wind projects, load and generation interconnection, and renewables integration.
The role requires expertise with PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and scripting; familiarity with UK Grid Code, and mentoring junior staff, while delivering
Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with industrial experience.
- Chartered Engineer or in an accredited scheme to become Chartered Engineer.
- Comprehensive experience in offshore wind studies at Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design stages.
Responsibilities
- Conduct simulations and analytical studies for Offshore Wind projects, load and generation interconnection, and renewables integration.
- Prepare simulation study models and power system studies including grid compliance for Offshore Wind, Solar, BESS and Hybrid projects.
- Dynamic and steady-state power flow analysis, FRT, HVDC/FACTS related analysis, and protection studies.
- Produce study reports and technical documentation; respond to RFPs with proposals and man-hour estimates.
- Mentor junior staff and deliver training on subject matter; discuss results with clients.
