Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior Power System Studies Engineer for our Energy Networks team, based from Birmingham or other UK offices. You will conduct in-depth studies for Offshore Wind projects, grid interconnections, and energy system dynamics.

The role requires strong experience with PSCAD/DIgSILENT PowerFactory and report writing for clients. You will mentor junior staff, prepare proposals, and deliver technical training while collaborating with global clients and project teams.

Qualifications

Masters / bachelors degree in electrical engineering, with relevant industrial experience.
Chartered Engineer – IET Member – Or in an accredited scheme to become Chartered Engineer
Comprehensive experience in studies for Offshore Wind projects at Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design stages, with at least 4 years dedicated to major offshore wind project.
Expertise in system study software such as PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, including the development of software scripts.

Responsibilities

In depth knowledge of conducting simulations and analytical studies for Offshore Wind projects, load and generation interconnection, integration of renewables.
Prepare simulation study models and carry out power system studies including grid compliance for Offshore Wind, Solar, BESS and Hybrid projects.
Fault Ride Through studies, short circuit calculation, power quality analysis and dynamic simulation of HVDC/FACTS.
Analyse study results and prepare reports, participate in client discussions, and mentor junior staff.
