Job summary

GlobTek, Inc. is seeking a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer for our design center in Northvale, New Jersey.

You will design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies, battery chargers and systems for OEM customers across medical, industrial and IT markets, taking concepts to volume production. You will meet performance and reliability targets, select components, qualify products to safety standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and factories to deliver cost-effective,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 5 years designing switch-mode power supplies.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Clear spoken and written English, and a professional presence with customers.
• Able to manage several projects at once.

Responsibilities

• Design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies across topologies from concept to production.
• Meet performance, cost and reliability targets with designs ready for manufacturing.
• Design and calculate magnetics and specify insulation to applicable standards.
• Qualify products to international safety standards for ITE and medical devices.
• Select components and suppliers based on performance and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, mechanical, manufacturing and quality teams and with factories during development.
• Translate customer requirements into cost-effective design recommendations.
• Lead design reviews, verification/validation review, and reliability calculations such as MTBF.
• Lead root-cause analysis and evaluate new technologies.

GlobTek is hiring a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer for our design center in Northvale, New Jersey. You'll design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies, battery chargers and battery systems for OEM customers in medical, industrial and IT markets, and take them from concept to volume production.

What you'll do

• Design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies across a range of topologies, from concept through EVT, DVT and volume production
• Meet performance, cost and reliability targets with designs built for manufacturing
• Design and calculate magnetics, and specify insulation systems to the applicable standards
• Qualify new products to international safety standards for ITE and medical devices
• Select components and suppliers based on performance, reliability and regulatory requirements
• Work with PCB layout, mechanical, manufacturing and quality engineering, and with our factories during development
• Turn customer requirements into cost-effective recommendations, and support customers and sales with technical information
• Take part in design reviews, review verification and validation results, and run reliability calculations such as MTBF
• Lead root cause analysis, generate engineering change orders and evaluate new technologies
