Job summary

Jobtailor in Kentucky seeks a data-driven analyst to support power supply planning for refinery and industrial electricity needs across North America. You will track facility load, consumption, outages, and utility requirements to inform procurement and budgeting.

You will collect and validate load, utility, market, and operating data, assist with load forecasting, review tariffs, and prepare clear summaries for action. Strong Excel and data-tools experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
• 4+ years in electric power or natural gas industry.
• Experience with large datasets and market data preferred.
• Familiar with North American power markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO) helpful.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot, lookups, charts.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, VBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support power supply planning for North America refinery and industrial electricity needs.
• Track facility load, consumption, outages, and utility requirements.
• Collect, clean, validate load, utility, market and internal data.
• Assist with load forecasting using historical usage and market inputs.
• Review electricity bills, tariffs, and related charges.
• Identify rate changes, data gaps and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Maintain recurring reports on electricity cost, exposure and market drivers.
• Support power procurement analysis including fixed/indexed/renewable options.
• Monitor rate cases and regulatory developments.
• Prepare clear summaries explaining changes and actions needed.
