Job summary

General Motors in Warren, Michigan seeks a Senior Lead Wiring Engineer to head the Power and Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS) for vehicle programs. The role includes overseeing design rework, ICDe integration, and prototype releases to support high-fidelity builds and production readiness.

You will manage supplier activities, lead a team of engineers, and coordinate with program teams to ensure electrical releases align with vehicle architecture and program timing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry or Physics.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in Power Signal or Wire harness packaging.
• Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Provides program specific requirements for sourcing process.
• Provides technical background in PSDS supplier technical reviews.
• Creates initial harness parts list and complexity studies.
• Maintains consistency of effort for the program and manages changes.
• Manages the cost, quality, mass, etc. for the power and signal distribution system.
• Leads brainstorming, design reviews, and interface tradeoffs across teams.
• Releases parts and subsystems for production.
• Defines test plans and development programs.
