Job summary

Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks a Supervisor to oversee plant operations, maintenance, and safety across Germantown, Watertown, and Union Grove facilities. You will plan, organize, and direct activities to ensure productivity and safety, with a focus on leadership and performance management.

The role emphasizes coordinating with unions and management, applying knowledge of equipment design, and guiding teams through safety processes and outage preparations.

Qualifications

• Five to 10 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance or supervision.
• Good working knowledge of labor agreements and relationships is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with and establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, union representatives and plant management.

Responsibilities

• Drive the performance of employees for both productivity and safety.
• Plan and conduct safety meetings to communicate safety requirements.
• Plan and conduct team meetings.
• Manage work assignments to minimize overtime while maintaining optimal productivity.
• Coach and counsel employees to achieve optimum performance. Consult with others regarding disciplinary issues.
• Evaluate performance and conduct annual performance reviews with represented employees.
• Work with union stewards to discuss and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
• Lead safety and team meetings with direct reports to share information and promote safe work practices.
• Support diversity by actively seeking out and encouraging diversity in perspective and by establishing an environment of inclusion.
• Manage and prioritize assigned work.
• Track and monitor job progress.
• Plan daily work activities.
• Communicate job assignments.
• Evaluate work situations to determine safety issues.
• Apply knowledge of chemical hazards and procedures for effective control and safety.
• Assist in troubleshooting system components as required; evaluate urgency of repairs or shutdowns.
• Apply knowledge of equipment design parameters and interrelationships to maintenance decisions.
• Follow up on assignments to ensure quality, productivity, and safety.
• Work with Senior Supervisors to train staff in job skills.
• Apply knowledge of policies to administration and management of work; consider environmental policy.
• Use systems software to complete administrative tasks.
• With required training, can serve as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler roles.
