Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corporation in Rincon, GA seeks an experienced plant operations leader to manage 500-MW gas-fired combined cycle plant shifts and oversee maintenance coordination for safe, reliable power generation.

Lead day-to-day operations, implement procedures, train staff, and ensure compliance with FERC, EPA, OSHA, NERC/SERC and related regulations, while coordinating with other departments and contractors as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ten years of progressively responsible power plant operations experience; supervisory level.
Equivalent BS degree with six years of supervisory experience in a thermal power station.
Two years of college or tech schooling with eight years of supervisory power plant experience.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day plant operations, scheduling, manpower utilization, and maintenance interface.
Develop and maintain operating procedures for safe, efficient plant operation and compliance.
Coordinate training programs for operations staff and support an advancement process.
Analyze and resolve plant issues to ensure safe, reliable operations.
Provide semi-annual performance reviews with development plans for direct reports.
Lead compliance programs (OSHA, EPA, NERC/SERC, etc.) and act as EH&S liaison.
Oversee project and contractor management and support budgeting.
Maintain qualifications and knowledge of OPC policies and emergency procedures.
