Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Operating Engineer at the South Shore plant to monitor, control and maintain power house equipment across rotating shifts. You will operate gas engine generators, boilers and pumps, log readings, and respond to equipment problems to ensure continuous operation.

A High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of boiler plant experience are required. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and accurate recording of daily logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Four years of experience operating power house equipment in plants containing high-pressure boilers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control equipment listed in the plant, including gas engine generators, boilers and pumps, with procedures set in the control centers and operating floors.
• Visually inspect equipment, adjust systems, maintain logs, and respond to equipment problems as needed.
• Maintain records of equipment status and perform startup/shutdown tasks as required.
• Make manual adjustments on power plant equipment and collect boiler data for analysis.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals, requisition supplies, and ensure safety during shifts.
